The fog in this session was so Cleveland; it reminded me of how this city has grit, attitude and a mind of its own. We are often at mercy of the lake with the winds, rains, blizzards (and in this case fog) that it brings to the city, just like as parents we are at the mercy of our toddlers. The H family had pretty specific requests when they reached out to me about updating a wall gallery in their home, but of course, as is the way with toddlers, they have a mind of their own. I was thrilled to have this family in front of my camera for a beautiful family mini session a few weeks ago. These kiddos took a minute to warm up, but we were having a crabapple tossing contest before our time was up. This session is a prime example of why when your photographer strongly suggests to schedule your session around golden hour, you do so (wink wink:). I know sometimes it can be hard with kid's schedules to make golden hour work, but I have never had anyone tell me it isn't worth it and I make it work for my own family as well when we do photos. There is just something magical that happens with golden hour and a camera.
To begin this post we will have a little throw back action and I will share again some photos from this family's maternity shoot. The maternity session was shot in February 2013 just a few weeks before two beautiful baby boys were born. It was a pleasure to fast forward a year and a few weeks and photograph those boys in celebration of their 1st birthday. The Regan’s opted to go back to the same park where their maternity photos were shot and do their boys one year session. The boys were such a joy and so well behaved! Enjoy:)
